About Me

I'm an ambitious, creative, and intuitive recent graduate who is currently looking to advance my applied mathematical and programming skills in a fulfilling learning environment.
My experience in research started in the 2020 summer. Even though the COVID-19 pandemic prevented in-person opportunities, I learned valuable skills in time management, self-motivation, adaptability, and collaboration. While working over 45 hours a week on a research paper, I also attended a professional development program and summer school to earn more credits towards my undergraduate degree. My dedication towards my education has not only led me to manage and present several research projects at once, become the first member in my family to earn a degree, and earn a spot on the university's Chancellor's List, but also graduate with my high school and undergraduate diplomas within six years instead of the traditional eight years.
I've faced a myriad of obstacles throughout my journey, but I've always persevered and accomplished my goals, no matter the circumstances, and am looking for my challenges to overcome in the future. I look forward to hearing from you and discussing my achievements, abilities, and past experiences in further detail.

About

Projects

Below are projects where I've applied my mathematical, analytical, and programming skills.

COVID-19 Mental Health and Unemployment Research Paper

The pandemic originating in China in 2019 has caused billions of people’s lives to be affected as a result. In the project, data about mental health symptoms and unemployment rate on a national and state level in the United States is analyzed to determine if these factors were affected due to COVID-19.

Pulmonary Hypertension Research Paper

Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) is a cardiovascular disease that progressively causes vascular remodeling, which can affect blood flow through the lungs over time. In the project, topological data analysis (TDA) is utilized to examine and understand the anatomical changes that can occur due to PH in pulmonary arterial networks.

Hotel Reservation MySQL Schema Assignment

With preexisting hotel reservation data, constructed a rational database through MySQL with appropriate tables, columns, and relationships. Included creating a draft ERD, plus DDL and DML scripts, then testing those scripts through specific queries to gather certain information about the hotel reservations.

US and Iraq Terrorist Attacks Research Report

Data about terrorist attacks from 1970 to 2017 are analyzed to examine how terrorism has changed in the United States and Iraq. Publicly available census data is also utilized to understand the correlation between population and number of attacks or casualties in the United States.

Gershgorin Circle Theorem Research Report

One piece of helpful information to gather from any matrix is the exact or estimated value of the matrix’s eigenvalues. This paper provides some background information, properties, examples, and even a proof of one method utilized to find eigenvalues: The Gershgorin Circle Theorem.

Hodgkin-Huxley Model Research Report

The Hodgkin-Huxley Model is a system of differential equations created in 1952 that models the progression of an action potential in a neuron. For this project, six numerical methods are applied to a simplified version of the Hodgkin-Huxley Model to understand how accurate the methods are in approximating the exact solution of the model.

Gamma Function Research Report

The factorial function is an essential part of mathematics and statistics, yet it is defined for only 0 and any positive integer. This paper delves into the history, definition, properties, proof, and some applications of the Gamma function, which is able to find the factorial of other numbers, such as complex and rational numbers.
